What will the 2025 season look like?
It is a big question that occupies a lot of business owners in Alanya and we are asked the same question when we are out. It is no secret that the last few years have been some tough years for business life in Alanya. Many have been forced to turn the key and find other income opportunities, due to the high inflation in Turkey. Others have become unemployed, some have lost their homes but fortunately the Turkish people always stand together.
Like many others, we have also had to look inward, which has meant that we have shrunk a little, not that it has any significance for you as a customer, because we are all here as usual – we are just back in terms of the office, where it all started in 2010. Our front office has been rented out to another side, which means that our office does not have the same number of m2 to enjoy, but fortunately it means that we again feel each other’s closeness and close cooperation, between all the colleagues.
Remember our new entrance is now from the side of the road, instead of the corner as we have used in recent years.
When above is said, we would also like to share this year’s inflation rate along with a few examples of the challenges we are working with here in Alanya.
This year’s inflation is 45% (This is the official rate, however, this is not the rate everyone works with, which is why we sometimes experience up to several hundred % increases when purchasing etc.) The minimum wage has increased by approx. 30% and is therefore set at 22,104.67 TL this year.
With an average rent of 15,000 TL, bread that has increased by 25% and a hairdresser’s visit that has increased by 60%, the locals are fighting a battle to make their everyday lives work.
Here at J.O.Dreams we are currently taking ISKAN home for one of our complexes. The price here was in 2024, 120,000TL, which has been collected in the association. We have now passed 01.01.2025, where we are suddenly met with a new price on 210.000 TL. (An increase of approximately 90%)
Parking costs at the airports when we pick you up in connection with our airport transfer and rent a car service, the cost in 2024 was 60TL. This amount has increased to 120TL this year. (An increase of 100%)
Shortly, increases that are not in our hands, increases that cannot be predicted but increases that provide big challenges all the way back to you as our customers.
We have always and will always do our best to provide a service that is top-notch and at the same time to an advantageous price, however, circumstances occasionally arise that unfortunately mean that you will see price changes on several of our services. We hope for your understanding in this matter.
